The canteen building at the Weald of Kent Grammar School for Girls is designed for versatility. Two storeys provide a galleried dining hall, classrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, toilets and changing facilities. Upstairs, there is provision for an office, a sixth-form study and a careers-guidance suite.
Robbens underfloor heating systems have been installed throughout the building, serving an area of 650 m2.
There is a solid floor at both levels, and a special 20 mm version of Robbens’s multi-layer pipe was selected to ensure a good supply of warm water in the large floor areas — the largest has 13 loops.
