Danfoss has made its AC drives smaller and lighter. This is the VLT 6000 HVAC with integral fused isolator.

The redesign of its variable-speed drives by Danfoss has achieved volume and weight reductions averaging over 35% — and the price has also come down.

Covering ratings from 75 to 250 kW, the redesigned units offer the same operating software, dynamic performance and functionality as their predecessors, facilitating ease of transition to the new models.

The redesigned VLT 5000, VLT 6000 HVAC and VLT 8000 Aqua series higher-power models all have IP54 enclosures.

The redesign has added integral disconnect facilities, with the option of accessible fuses with no space penalty. Power terminations have been redesigned to accept single box lug or dual cable legs. Logic cable-routing facilities include tie-down provision ot reduce noise interference, and ambient temperatures up to 50°C can be accommodated.
