With a floorspace of 3500 m2, in 2008, this building has been designed as a showroom and features an open-plan concept with meeting points intended to create synergies between the different activities. The building helps customers visualise their projects using technologies such as 3D imaging.
Martin Rossbach of Nexans, explains, ‘POF provides an attractive alternative to copper and silica-fibre solutions with data rates from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. POF can be used for interconnecting buildings, for high-speed backbone distribution and for horizontal distribution.’
POF is more flexible and stronger than silica fibre. It is also easier to use and will soon be easier to manufacture. It is unbreakable and does not distort the transmitted light beam.
