10-way marshalling boxes were installed side by side, each with their own circuits. Using a BMS, timers switch the lighting on and off and to 50% for cleaning. Using 10-way boxes provides future flexibility since several sockets are unused, allowing light fittings to be added or repositioned with minimal disruption.
Mike Armstrong, technical director for electrical contractor DIS says, ‘For large open-plan areas such as this, using Klik LDS saved us about 60% labour time.’
First fix involved has wiring the marshalling boxes while other trades were still on site. Second fix involved plugging the luminaires into each box. Emergency luminaires are also connected into the system, since the sockets have four connections to accommodate an auxiliary loop.
