Features include a detachable wiring box, allowing direct wiring from controller to actuator without a junction box. A function switch changes direction or control signal, and there is a declutch button for easy manual adjustment. Installation is further simplified by the universal shaft adapter, which enables actuators to be mounted directly on round and square damper shafts of various lengths and widths.
These features reduce total installed costs and inventory requirement for distributors and service businesses. Only two to four models need to be stocked instead of 10 to 12 for competitive models.
With the launch of these new SmartAct actuators, Honeywell claims to be the only manufacturer to offer actuators with all three control functions in one model — modulating, floating and 2-position.
