Electric underfloor heating comes with 20-year warranty

Raychem electric underfloor heating has been installed to an extension to a large residential property in Suffolk. The extension comprised a garden room with glazed frontage, gym and shower facility. The work was carried out by Spectrum Electrical of Sudbury, a Raychem CertifiedPRO installer who was authorised to provide the customer with the manufacturer’s extended 20-year total care warranty. The garden room has a large glazed frontage, so a T2Red + Reflecta system was chosen. The T2Red self-regulating heating cables automatically reduce their output in response to solar gain. The cables were installed in pre-grooved, thermally insulated and aluminium-covered Reflecta plates for optimum heat distribution. It is said to be the most efficient electric floor-heating system on the market and can be assembled to fit all room sizes. For the gym and shower, Spectrum installed ultra-thin preformatted QuickNet power mats. For faster heat up, the customer opted for an output of 160 W/m2 rather than the standard 90 W/m2.
