Birchall was commissioned by off-site specialist Yorkon and electrical contractor Connect 2 to install the services for main contractor Medicinq Osborne as part of a £25 million hospital improvement project.
Reducing the construction programme time by around 50%, the modules were craned into position with about 40% of pipework, plumbing and electrical services having been installed off site.
Chris Langley, operations manager at Yorkon for the project, says, ‘By manufacturing the building off-site, we were able to bring together an integrated design team that could work together with maximum efficiency.
