Daikin delivers energy-efficient air conditioning for Aberdeen office development
Published:  July 2008

Daikin heat-recovery VRV systems provide energy-efficient comfort in this office development in Aberdeen.

Daikin’s top-of-the range VRV heat-recovery air conditioning has been installed in the Wellington House 2-storey office development in Aberdeen. The development by Knight Real Estate comprises about 2300 m2 of open-plan accommodation with high-grade finishes, energy-efficient glazing and a contemporary styled reception area.

The air conditioning comprises 15 REYQ VRV systems with cooling capacities from 33.5 to 44.5 kW and heating from 37.5 to 50.0 kW. They supply 168 FXSQ concealed ceiling indoor fan-coil units. Conditioned air is mixed with fresh air in the false-ceiling plenum and delivered via low-pressure ducting connected to 600 mm-diameter ceiling-mounted swirl diffusers. They were installed by Daikin D1 dealer Active Air Conditioning.

The VRV heat-recovery systems can transfer heat from fan-coil units in cooling mode to areas requiring heating, minimising energy consumption.

The systems are monitored and controlled on each floor by Daikin Intelligent Touch controllers in lockable cupboards. Future control options are available to incoming tenants by wall-mounted room-temperature controllers throughout the building to suit design layout requirements.
