The gearbox plant is a high-density area of 21 400 m2 and operates a continuous shift system. Part of the area has a low roof which trapped warm air.
Looking for a solution, site-services manager Barry Stevens turned to CoSaf Environments, UK distributor for Breezair.
Following a site survey, an evaporative-cooling system was designed. Six Breezair units were installed on the roof of the low section of the factory, with cool air distributed via ductwork to diffusers.
Such has been the success of the installation that Barry Stevens is in discussion with CoSaf Environments to installed heating and cooling into the other part of the gearbox plant.
These coolers are group controlled by a single Breezair Industrial Wall Control that maintains the indoor temperature within 0.5 K of the setpoint. It also has humidity-limit control and comprehensive fault diagnostics that enable the installation to be quickly serviced.
