Equipment for cooling the 101 floors of the Taipei Financial Center includes four 19XR centrifugal chillers, 197 air-handling units and 2233 fan-coil units. The HVAC system includes up to 28 VAV boxes on each floor. The air-supply and return system is integrated with the lighting system. An ice-storage tank in the foundations enhances efficiency and reduces operating costs.
The building includes offices, a shopping mall, atrium for entertainment events, 5-star hotel and two observatories — one indoors and one outdoors.
