Raychem provides freeze protection for Halley VI Station
Published:  May 2008
Raychem

Raychem trace-heating systems are providing freeze protection for piped water service lines throughout the modules of the new Halley VI Antarctic Research Station. It is being built for the British Antarctic Survey.

Delta T, a Tyco Thermal Control distributor partner, supplied the systems to Merit Merrell, which is responsible for M&E and HVAC piped services on the project and supervised their installation. The heating cables were installed onto pipe work in the UK and shipped to South Africa for assembly into undercroft skids, which will be transported to the Antarctic as a major component in the modular build.
