The 1350 m2 building enables Charter to bring together all its staff in this 2-storey building on Banbury Business Park in Adderbury, Oxfordshire. Previously staff of the company, which is part of Sanctuary Housing Group, were based in Bodicote on the outskirts of Banbury, with maintenance staff operating from the other side of town.
The five solar collectors have a total gross area of 12.8 m2 and are designed to supply up to 5 kW of heat to the cylinder, which serves two showers and taps throughout the building. The collectors are glazed, flat-plate aluminium tray types.
A duplex stainless-steel cylinder with a capacity of 550 l stores water heated by the solar collectors. It has stainless-steel solar and primary heating coils, with destratification and anti-legionella precautions as standard.
The complete SOLARflo package included solar controls, pump station, expansion vessels, first fill of heat-transfer fluid and accessories for mounting the collectors.
The package was specified and installed by Daly Engineering Services and supplied via BSS.
