A Metasys extended-architecture building-management system will control all plant in the two hospitals. Johnson Controls will also supply six York chillers to both sites.
Johnson Controls has built up a strong relationship with the developer Consort Health Care, having been involved from conceptual planning stage.
David St John-Clare, general manger for Johnson Controls’ systems branch, says, ‘It has been a long and very personal journey in securing one of the largest privately funded initiatives in UK history, and my team and I are very pleased to be involved in such a prestigious project, which will significantly benefit the local communities of mid and west Yorkshire.’
The £311 million contract to develop both hospitals is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Construction Haden Young Construction and the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
