Not only were these houses in Salford erected in just seven days, but the project in Vincent Street of the Higher Broughton area won for Taylor Woodrow the prize for housing innovation at the Quality in Construction Awards.

The houses were made off-site by Panaloc in nearby Manchester as fully fitted pod units for assembly onto pre-installed foundations. They were delivered complete with plumbing and plug-and-play electrics. Overall, the scheme was recognised as delivering a 400% increase in productivity. Waste was reduced by 95% and time by 75%.

The £1.7 million scheme comprises 19 affordable houses and is part of the regeneration of the Higher Broughton area.

David Theobald, divisional director of Taylor Woodrow, comments, ‘We are delighted to have invested in the strategic partnership with Panaloc on the Vincent Street project and are extremely proud of what we have achieved and in receiving recognition for our efforts in the process.’
