In addition, these fans have native BACnet communication capability, enabling contractor Laing O’Rourke to reduce the amount of cabling required, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
Andy Schilling, building-services manager with Laing O’Rourke, explains, ‘The drives have on-board capacity for having components such as control switches wired in, so we didn’t need to have as many separate cables running back to the building-management system. This enabled us to save on the hardware and wiring costs.’
The new Quadrant buildings at the ground have added around 7600 seats by increasing capacity in the second tier in the north-west and north-east quadrants of the stadium, bringing total capacity up to 76 500. Underneath the new seating are five large kitchens and 10 restaurants, offering a range of corporate hospitality, including fine dining. 33 drives from 3 to 7.5 kW control comfort conditions.
