The redevelopment is being undertaken by local entrepreneur Nick Brammar in several phases.
Stage one, comprising a bar, restaurant and a principal apartment is the first to be completed.
Stage two is a new-build development of 16 apartments designed to match the period styling of neighbouring buildings.
Stage three will include a private-function suite, bistro and two luxury apartments.
The original building now includes the Limes Bar & Restaurant, with a basement bar and disco area, a ground-floor bistro bar, first-floor restaurant and bar, and a penthouse apartment.
The requirements of the vaulted basement bar and disco and the large ground-floor bar are met by a 60 kW Buderus 800 boiler.
A 29 kW Buderus 800 boiler provides heating for the first-floor restaurant, and another 29 kW 800 boiler serves the penthouse apartment.
Buderus 600 range 28 kW combis have been specified for the phase-three function suite and the two apartments. Another 29 kW 800 model will serve the new bistro.
All these boilers are SEDBUK A rated. The integrated fan and gas valve is factory set to ensure a perfect gas/air mixture, simplifying commissioning. The 800 boilers can modulate down to 30% of full output t maximise condensing operation. The variable-speed pumps also match system demand to deliver further energy savings.
