Ventilux is supplying landlord’s emergency lighting for most of the site, including self-contained luminaires and central-battery systems. Most fittings are fed by central-battery supplies ranging from 8 to 40 kVA. All emergency luminaires incorporate a test and monitoring facility linked to the central control room.
A key feature of the emergency-lighting installation is the Ventilux Netcom 5xp automatic test and monitoring system. It automatically carries out the daily checks and monthly, 6-monthly and annual tests required for emergency lighting. The results are logged, and operators are alerted to any luminaires needing attention. The system can monitor up to 25 300 luminaires. A monitoring device in each luminaire monitors the lamp, battery and inverter and automatically conducts the specified tests.
Many of the emergency luminaires are Concord Marlin units adapted and retested by Ventilux for use with the Netcom 5 xp system. The project also includes a number of Ventilux’s own luminaires.
Ventilux worked closely with building-services engineers WSP Group to produce appropriate solutions for the special needs of the project.
