This centre is part of a £2.6 million investment by English Heritage to improve visitor facilities and general awareness of the famous battle at this historic side.
Conditioned air for the exhibition and 40-seat auditorium is provided by fan-coil units concealed in the ceiling. and ducted to linear diffusers strip along the front face of ceiling bulkheads. Three units serve the main exhibition display area, with a further two in the auditorium. Each unit can deliver 4.6 kW of cooling and 4.7 kW of heating.
A separate audio-visual room is served by a wall-mounted fan-coil unit with a cooling capacity of 9.7 kW and heating of 9.4 kW of heating.
Tempered fresh air is supplied from air-handling plant in the main plant room via a separate ducted system. Supplementary heating is provided for ancillary areas and to a coil on the air-handling unit by gas-fired boiler plant.
Building services for the new visitor centre were designed by consultants Gibbs Dench Association, and the Daikin system were installed by Aspen Air Conditioning.
