The architecture will include detailed consideration of passive design solutions to minimise energy consumption; orientation, fenestration, fabric insulation and permeability will be incorporated.
It is expected that renewable technologies will be incorporated, with likely sources including biofuel, solar DHW and small scale wind power.
Low-energy solutions to be employed included natural ventilation, district heating served by CHP, instantaneous DHW, low-energy lighting and high levels of thermal insulation.
Bill Grant, a partner with Hoare Lea, comments, ‘Hoare Lea has been a key player in the ongoing development of Greenwich Village and is delighted to be appointed for these phases. This project will set the benchmark for high-density residential development for the next decade.’
