ICS brings modern control to refurbished London building

An important element of the building-management system installed by Integrated Control Systems as part of the £5 million refurbishment of 13 Hanover Square in London for Standard Life is the ability to access graphics and data on the performance of the building via the Internet and the transmission of security alarms by e-mail to computers, mobile telephones or a central alarm point.
Each of the eight floors in the 3250 m2 building is equipped with an optimum start and stop program and occupation times defined by a zone time program.
Two motor-control panels were built and installed in the basement. An open-protocol Tridium system was designed and installed on a network that includes over a hundred ceiling, wall-mounted and waterside LON fan-coil units, air-cooled chiller on the fourth floor, heater batteries, fire-system interlocking and a central operator station.
The contract was awarded by MITIE, and the consulting engineer was SKM.
