There is a heater at each end of the warehouse, which has roof heights of 15 to 18 m. Goods are stored on the floor, so there is no racking to impede the flow of air around the interior.
Each heater has an output of 300 kW and can deliver an airflow of 18m3/s. A Trend control system allows remote operation of the heaters, which can be set to fire automatically.
The heaters heat the building to around 16°C by drawing in cooler air at floor level and discharging it at high level across the building, producing an effective mix with the warmed air and forcing it down to lower levels. The result is a gentle airflow patter, displacing hot air at high level and sending it down to floor level to provide automatic temperature destratification.
This principle of air rotation ensure heat is distributed evenly, both horizontally and vertically, without the need for ductwork or high-level fans. The system also captures heat from lighting and other sources to reduce energy consumption.
