Approval for building control has been simplified with the provision of PPS-22, the planning policy statement from the Government, which requires building controllers to weight in favour of carbon-saving benefits when considering planning applications for solar collectors.
There is a range of solar collectors, and the energy gathered is stored in an SSB upright cylinder in the loft. The cylinder has separate connection options for a solar heating systems, condensing boiler, electric booster heater or heat pump — providing a meeting point for all these energy systems.
