The exposed passive chilled beams, incorporating a primary air supply, comprise 424 exposed TCB-Air units with 100 mm-diameter and face grille, fitting of free-issue control valves, co-ordinated with the sprinklers. The beams are installed on eight floors and were supplied in various lengths to suit the building shape.
Each beam is unique, with 15 potential option variations. Lengths vary from 1 to 6.1 m. Due to site restraints, the maximum length of any beam section was 3.3 m. They are finished in white with a 20% gloss.
Trox Design Bureau developed the beam with the professional team: building-services consultant Faber Maunsell; M&E contractor Axima; main contractor Bovis and MacCormac Jamieson Pritchard Architects.
