Ideal Boilers worked with Places for People, the housing and regeneration group, to improve energy efficiency for 242 apartments in the Clayton Street Housing Development.
The boiler plant is complemented by two CHP units, which have a combined duty of 11 kW of electricity and 24 kW of heat. This electrical output is used to power the boiler plant, including circulating pumps, with the heat used by the heating and hot-water system.
A new control system was also fitted.
The combined effect of these works has been to reduce the energy consumed by the heating plant by 25%.
