The company won orders to supply 635 chillers ranging from the smallest Aquasnap models up to large centrifugal chillers. Other equipment includes over 3600 fan-coil units, 22 packaged units from the 50 series, some 1150 simple split systems and 47 ducted units to projects integral to the games.
The first order was for three chillers with a total cooling capacity of 3728 kW to serve the headquarters complex that is home to the organising committee.
For the Olympic Stadium at Marousi, five heat-pump machines have a capacity of 2350 kW.
The 70 000 m2 broadcast centre is cooled by 21 Global chillers with a total cooling capacity of 23 451 kW. This is the world’s largest broadcast centre and will have a population of some 10 000 for six weeks.
At the smaller end of the scale is the supply of 555 Aquasnap Junior chillers and nearly 2800 fan-coil units for part of the Olympic Village that will be home to 16 000 athletes and team officials. Three chillers have been installed in the village’s clinic and another six in the medical centre. Close by are ancillary buildings that will become schools; they are served by 12 chillers and 760 hydronic terminals.
