Split-system air conditioning provides heating and cooling for coach company

Comfort in the new offices of Britannia Coaches matches the comfort in its luxury coaches thanks to heating and cooling provided by Toshiba air-conditioning systems.

Both cooling and heating are provided for an extension to the headquarters of Britannia Coaches in Dover by a Toshiba digital inverter split air-conditioning system. Installed by A1 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, the system uses R410A and operates in heat-pump mode to provide heating.

An upper-floor extension to the existing office unit on an industrial estate that provides parking for Britannia’s coach fleet has created five new offices. The two digital inverter systems have a 50 m pipe-run capability, which enabled the outdoor units to be sited below the new extension in the car park. By routing the pipework through the floor while building work was going on, the installer was able to use gravity drains for condensate instead of pumps.

Inside the offices, the systems have been installed as twin split systems using slimline high-wall units. The indoor units have very low sound levels, making them ideal for use in quiet private offices.
