Midtherm Engineering flues plant room with biomass boilers

A copper-clad, custom-built roof terminal to marry in with the grass roof of a new-build plant room at the Betteshanger Development at Sholden in Kent tops out a complex flue system serving three pressure-jet gas boilers and two bio-mass boilers. The flue system was developed by Midtherm Engineering for Ecoenergy of Kettering. The terminal was made using a mild-steel framework, wrapped with a 3 mm copper outer cladding and custom shaped to meet aesthetic requirements. It is 1.5 m in diameter and 2 m high and fixed to a heavy-duty roof plate. The installation was particularly challenging due to the complex nature of the roof arrangement and the configuration of the flues in the plant room. Related articles: |
