The agreement, ‘Partners in FM excellence’ was signed by BIFM chairman Mick Dalton and Malcolm Linsley, chairman of the HVCA services and facilities group following several months’ discussion of the ways in which the two organisations can work more closely to deliver enhanced benefits to their members.
Three key areas for collaboration have been identified.
• Joint commitment to work together to develop and promote excellent FM standards.
• Member access to technical publications, training and other sources of information.
• Collaboration on research, standards development, accreditation and assessment schemes, qualification and continuous professional development.
Malcolm Linsley explains that the agreement will enable members of the HVCA’s services and facilities group to reach out to a worldwide facilities-management marketplace and provide a framework for future collaboration between the two organisations on a range of issues of common concern.
The two organisations will retain their independence and continue to offer individual support to their own members.
