Two Power-Fin PFB2000CE boilers and two CE500 Automatic Charger water heaters were prepiped and installed into the skid-mounted plant room. The whole unit was delivered to site and lifted into position as a finished plant room. On-site work involved little more than connecting pipework, minimising site disruption.
David Pepper, Lochinvar’s managing director, says of the project, ‘The selection of independent boilers and direct gas-fired water heaters encourages energy efficiency. Both are sized to meet their own demand, and boilers can be shut down in summer months when space heating is not required.’
Power-Fin boilers match output to demand with a variable-frequency drive increasing thermal efficiency by supplying the correct amount of gas to the burner. This minimises cycling and limits excessive heat, resulting in complete combustion and a net thermal efficiency of 96%.’
