Oventrop supplies solar thermal installation for Jaguar Land Rover

Oventrop, solar thermal, DHW, renewable energy

Oventrop has been heavily involved with Arup, Interserve and NG Bailey to design (using OVSOL and TSOL software), supply and install seven complete solar-thermal systems to preheat domestic hot water for the new Jaguar Land Rover i54 facility — a £500 million engine-manufacturing centre in Wolverhampton.

There are over 120 m2 of OKF CK22 flat solar-thermal panels on the roofs of the manufacturing halls. The project also includes HSK-SLS hygienic pre-heat storage vessels, DN32 pumpsets, Regtronic solar controls, Hydrocontrol STR balancing valves, Tyfocor solar fluid, and Sontex Supercal 449 heat meters.

The factory will be home to the Ingenium family of engines to power a new generation of Jaguar Land Rover products engineered and manufactured in the UK — starting with the 2-litre diesel in the Jaguar XE. It will employ over 1400 people.
