The new-build project is part of improvements to the Hall 4 concert facilities, which include a new dressing-room block, production offices, green room and purpose-built crew catering kitchen and dining area.
Koolduct has been installed throughout the ceiling voids and riser ducts by ducting specialist Brankin Engineering, working closely with M&E consultant Hulley & Kirkwood.
Bob Magee of Brankin Engineering said, ‘The fact that KoolDuct is pre-insulated and does not require any additional lagging made it ideal for this installation where space was severely restricted.’
Koolduct requires only a single-fix installation, unlike sheet-metal ducting, which then needs to be lagged with insulation.
Independent analysis by consultants Bucknall Austin has concluded that Koolduct can be installed up to three times faster than sheet-metal ductwork.
