Its running costs are said to be 85% lower than electric steam humidifiers, giving a payback of about 2 months when replacing existing electrode-boiler units.
To deal with the build-up of scale, these units have a quick-release tank mechanism that allows limescale build-up to be emptied in less than five minutes from start to finish.
Another feature is the patented spiralling design of the heat exchanger, which fluctuates significantly in size during operation. The change in size cracks the scale from the surface, keeping the exchanger clean and fully efficient. The scale is either flushed to drain or collects in the bottom of the boiling tank.
