This 4-storey development by Superior Homes on the site of the old Wheatsheaf public house on the Reading Road has nine apartments with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with three penthouses on the top floor.

Each apartment has a gas-fired boiler. During installation, insulation material was laid between wooden battens and loops of 17 mm cross—linked polyethylene pipework with integral oxygen-diffusion barrier clipped into place. The ends of pipework loops were connected to manifolds near the boiler in a convenient cupboard.
After a pressure test, the pipework was covered with a 25 mm sand and cement screed up to the level of the battens. The timber floor could then be fixed to the battens as required.
