The smaller boiler has a single bi-metallic heat exchanger with copper inside and stainless steel outside.
The larger model has two 50 kW heat exchangers, with a maximum working pressure of 6 bar.
The high efficiency of these boilers enables flue-gas temperatures to be just 5 K above the return-water temperature, so that the boiler can use a 50 mm-diameter plastic-flue system. Boilers can be room sealed, so that they can be located almost anywhere.
Milborne boilers use a simple master and slave system to manage multiple boilers, with each model supplied with a master or slave control. Sequencing is controlled according to heat-load requirements. Up to three independent heating circuits can be controlled — such as a calorifier for DHW, high-temperature circuit for radiators or fan-coil unit and low-temperature circuit for underfloor heating.
