Lossnay heat-recovery-ventilation system returns to Energy Technology List

Mitsubishi Electric’s Lossnay heat-recovery ventilation system has been reapproved and relisted for the Energy Technology List, so a business can claim the complete capital allowance in the first year on its spending on qualifying plant and equipment. Lossnay is listed under energy-saving plant and equipment. Changes to the product criteria for air-to-air heat exchangers led to all heat-recovery-ventilation products with moving parts being removed from the Energy Technology List. However, the commercial RX5 and residential DC Lossnay systems now qualify under new definitions of the product criteria because of their Special Hypercore. The Hypercore paper heat exchanger enables Lossnay products to surpass the minimum performance criteria required for a product to be listed on the ETL. Lossnay units extract up to 70% of the energy from outgoing air and transfer it to the incoming air, so much less energy is required to match it to room temperature.
